Khalsa College Patiala Honors Students at Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony

Patiala 8 May (Richa Rani) Khalsa College Patiala conferred various honors on more than 200 students at its Annual Prize Distribution function.  On this occasion, S. Darshan Singh Dhaliwal, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, was the Chief Guest, S. Mukhwinder Singh Cheena, IG, was the Guest of Honor, and S. Charanjit Singh Rakhra was the Special Guest. S. Tarwinder Singh Grower, Chairman, Apollo School Patiala, Baba Bhupinder Singh, Spiritual Leader, Shri Sanjeev Sharma, Ex Mayor, S.  Surjit Singh Rakhra, Honorary Secretary, College Governing Body and Former Minister, Punjab Government, and S. Satwinder Singh Tohra, Member SGPC, were also present to grace the occasion. More than 200 students were presented Roll of Honor awards and College Color awards. Under the scheme ‘Saadi Beti Saada Maan’, five girl students were conferred with special awards for their best performance.

 Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal, Khalsa College, Patiala, welcomed the guests and congratulated the students who received awards.  Referring to the achievements of the college students, he said that students performed extraordinarily at academic level. Dr Ubha also said that the college students won trophies in various fields at Youth Festival at Inter Zonal and Zonal level. Students also won awards in sports at national and international level.

Addressing on this occasion, the Chief Guest, S. Darshan Singh Dhaliwal, said that lot of hard work underlies behind a grand success. Students always imitate their teachers, so teachers should act as role model. S. Dhaliwal donated 10 Lakh rupees to the college for its development.  S. Mukhwinder Singh Cheena said in his speech that students must inculcate good moral values and best manners to make the college feel proud. He also said that for the better future of Punjab, participation of all people of Punjab is needed. Punjabis can together make Punjab a drug free state and a prosperous state. S. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Honorary Secretary, College Governing Body and Former Minister Punjab, while congratulating the students on the occasion said that hard work is always required to achieve great things in life.

At the end of the ceremony, S. Satwinder Singh Tohra presented vote of thanks. While congratulating the students on this occasion, he said that Khalsa College Patiala is one of the leading institutions of Punjab due to the hard work of its leaders and staff members.
